Bikram Hot Yoga Teacher Training Online

Become the teacher people trust — from anywhere.
This Hot Yoga Teacher Training Online gives you a simple, powerful system to master sequence, dialogue, cues, and class leadership. You will teach with calm confidence — not guesswork.

The YogaFX Fully Certified RYT 200-Hr Bikram Hot 26&2 Yoga Teacher Training Online Course is a self-paced, fully online programme that takes you from committed practitioner to a Yoga Alliance RYT 200 credential without leaving home. It is the world’s first and only fully certified Bikram Hot 26&2 Yoga Teacher Training online course. It is USD 399, or USD 329 on the limited Early Bird (roughly £315 and £260 at current rates), with Pay-in-4 interest-free instalments and lifetime access to every module.

First, make sure you are on the right page

YogaFX runs two separate teacher training programmes. They are not two names for the same thing, and this page is only about the Online Course.

One thing worth stating plainly, because it causes confusion: the Online Course is a standalone certification, not the MasterClass pre-course study module. If the MasterClass in Bali is what you actually want, start with our course details instead.

Your whole fee is also credited in full against the MasterClass, the separate hybrid programme Mr. Ian Terry runs in Bali, if you later decide to train with him in person. Starting online does not close the practical door behind you.

Who This Online Course Is Actually For

Let us be straight with you, because it matters more than a sales pitch.

If you can take a week off and fly to Bali, the MasterClass is still the route we recommend first. Teaching a heated room is a physical skill, and being corrected live while you teach is the fastest way to build it. Our honest comparison of online versus hybrid hot yoga teacher training explains why.

But plenty of committed students cannot do that, at least not this year. This course exists for them:

  • You cannot get a visa, or travel is complicated from where you live.
  • You have family or caring commitments that rule out a week away.
  • Your work will not release you for six consecutive days.
  • Health reasons make long-haul travel a bad idea right now.
  • The flights and accommodation push the total beyond your budget this year.

It also suits practitioners who simply want to go deeper first: six months into your practice, stuck on a plateau, or working on alignment, modifications, and holding one point in the mirror.

What You Get Inside the Course

Part 1: Dialogue and Posture Mastery

  • The complete Standing and Floor Series dialogue workbook, downloadable, built for dialogue memorisation rather than passive reading.
  • Full dialogue MP3 audio files for both series, so you can practise on a commute, on a plane, or on the walk to your studio. This is the single most effective tool we know for getting past dialogue phobia.
  • Full Standing and Floor Series posture demonstrations filmed with World Champion Miss Ivara. You keep full control: stop, rewind, pause, or mute the audio and teach the demonstration yourself using your own developing dialogue.

Part 2: 25 Premium Online Lectures

Fifteen core lectures plus ten bonus lectures, in short format with a workbook and a short multiple-choice quiz for each, covering the knowledge hours your Yoga Alliance credential requires. Topics include the anatomical planes of movement, the muscular system, the skeletal system, and the 8 Limbs of Yoga.

Part 3: Assessment and Certification

  • A final assignment, so you graduate against a real standard rather than by finishing videos.
  • Yoga Alliance RYT 200 certification, with a YACEP designation upgrade available.
  • A 250-page yoga manual, yours for life.
  • Lifetime access to every lecture, workbook, audio file, and demonstration, including material added later.

What This Course Deliberately Does Not Include

  • No scheduled Zoom calls.
  • No live chat rooms to keep up with.
  • No long essays.
  • No fixed deadlines.

You follow the demonstrations and lectures, open your workbook, answer the quiz questions, and move at your own pace. That is the point of the format.

Who Teaches It

The course was built by Mr. Ian Terry, E-RYT 500, founder of YogaFX and one of the world’s most popular Bikram Hot 26&2 yoga teacher trainers. He trained directly under Bikram Choudhury across five events between 2012 and 2019, has taught more than 12,000 hours, and has certified over 1,500 teachers from more than 80 countries since 2017. In June 2026 he was appointed Master Trainer of the Republic of Indonesia Yogasana Sports Federation. He is also certified in Applied Neuroscience and Brain Health, a certification accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF), by the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC) as a continuing education provider, and by HCANZA.

He built YogaFX into the world’s No. 1 Bikram Hot 26&2 fully certified RYT 200 yoga teacher training academy. There is a neuroscience angle to why the MasterClass events fill the way they do: learning a genuinely new skill and performing an act of service both engage the brain’s dopamine reward pathways, and standing in front of a class is both at once. This course is built around doing rather than watching for the same reason.

Your posture demonstrations are led by Miss Ivara, a YogaFX graduate from the 2023 intake who went on to win gold and bronze at the World Yogasana Sports Federation Championships in Ahmedabad, India in June 2026, silver at the Asian Yogasana Championships in the United Arab Emirates in August 2025, and gold at the FORNAS VIII Indonesia Championships in July 2025. YogaFX graduates have taken 12 medals in total across national, Asian and world championships: 5 gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze.

It is not every day that a world champion demonstrates the series for you posture by posture.

Science-Backed: The Harvard Research Behind the Practice

The sequence you will be teaching has a real and growing evidence base, which is worth knowing precisely rather than vaguely.

Mental health. A randomised trial run through Harvard-affiliated Massachusetts General Hospital found a 60% reduction in depression symptom severity after eight weeks of heated yoga, with 44% of participants reaching full remission (Nyer et al., 2023).

The 2026 update. In July 2026 a Massachusetts General Hospital and MIT team led by Daniel Copeland published a dose-response analysis in the Journal of Affective Disorders: every additional class a participant attended predicted a further drop of roughly one point in overall depression severity, with no plateau observed up to 30 classes across eight weeks (Copeland et al., 2026). The proposed mechanisms are heat-driven parasympathetic activation, reduced cortisol, serotonin pathways responsive to core body heat, and the interruption of rumination cycles. In plain terms: more classes kept producing more benefit, and the format appears to work partly by giving negative thought loops nowhere to go.

Metabolic health. A separate pilot study found that eight weeks of three weekly Bikram classes significantly improved glucose tolerance in older obese adults, though the same effect did not appear in young lean participants (Hunter et al.).

None of this is medical advice, and if you are managing a diagnosed condition you should speak to a healthcare professional before starting an intensive heated practice.

On the Early Bird, Pay-in-4 works out at around USD 82 a month, which is roughly USD 2.70 a day, less than most people spend on a coffee. It is a one-time investment with lifetime access, not a subscription.

For context, a UK-based hot yoga teacher earns roughly £20 to £45 per drop-in class, so the course fee is in the range of a handful of classes taught. Our UK cost and format breakdown compares this against weekend courses and residential programmes.

Your Fee Is Credited to the MasterClass

This is the part that matters most if you are torn between online and in-person. Everything you pay for this course is credited in full towards any future MasterClass with Mr. Ian, including that programme’s own pre-course preparation module. Starting with the Online Course is a first step, not a substitute decision.

FAQ

Is this a real Yoga Alliance RYT 200 certification?

Yes. The course is a fully certified RYT 200-hour programme, and a YACEP designation upgrade is available. As with every Yoga Alliance credential, registration is a separate step you complete yourself after graduating, which we walk you through.

Can I do this while working full time?

Yes. It is self-paced with no fixed deadlines and no scheduled calls, so you fit it around shifts, childcare, or a commute. Most students work through it over several weeks rather than in one block.

Do I need to be an advanced practitioner?

No. You need consistency rather than perfection. Students join at every level, from roughly six months of regular practice through to experienced practitioners working past a plateau.

How long do I keep access to the material?

For life. Every lecture, workbook, dialogue MP3, posture demonstration and the 250-page manual stay available to you after you graduate, including material added later.

What if I want to do the MasterClass in Bali later?

Your full Online Course fee is credited towards any future MasterClass with Mr. Ian, including that programme’s own pre-course preparation module. Nothing you spend here is lost if you decide to travel to Bali afterwards.

Will UK studios accept an online certification?

UK studios and insurers generally look for Yoga Alliance recognition, which this course provides. Be aware that many studios also want to see you teach before hiring, so the supervised practicum you get at the MasterClass remains the strongest route into paid teaching. Our guide on online yoga teacher training in the UK sets out what to expect.

Is this the official Bikram Choudhury teacher training?

No. This is independent training, not official Bikram Choudhury Teacher Training, and YogaFX is not affiliated with Bikram Choudhury or Bikram’s Yoga College of India.
